I decided to build Craig Anderton's Wah, Anti-Wah. It can give you that great Queen sound. The circuit is pretty simple, but it requires bipolar power (+9 and -9). I added a MAX1044 to do the trick. Now we have a great circuit that can be powered by a standard +9V wall-wart that still has a relatively small footprint. Another idea would be to add an additional circuit that requires bipolar power or reverse polarity (-9V) like a Fuzz Face, since we already have the MAX1044 pulled-out. I did that with a FUzz Face and an Octavio that turned-out nicely: one bigger box, two pedals, one power connection.
Ok, enough rambling, here is the layout:
SchematicNow on to actually building it... The schematic calls for two pairs of capacitors having the same value; the next step is to figure out what values work well. I imagine that one pair should be "bass-ee" and one pair should be "treble-ee". I plan to start off with a pair of .1ufd and a pair of .001ufd. I'll let you know.
